Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
