Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
