19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one win at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on court had led observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was over.

But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.

The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, took control to force a third set.

Moutet saved four initial break points in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
